Ruin

Hello!
I’m excited to share my 3D environment capstone project, “Ruin.” This work represents not only the culmination of my studies but also a personal creative journey. Along the way, I encountered challenges that tested my patience, setbacks that forced me to rethink my approach, and breakthroughs that reminded me why I love creating worlds in the first place.

“Ruin” is more than just a space—it’s a story carved into stone and shadow. The environment captures a place once alive with purpose, now reclaimed by time, nature, and silence. Every crumbled wall, fractured arch, and weathered surface hints at a forgotten history, inviting the viewer to imagine what once was and what remains.

To bring this vision to life, I utilized industry-standard tools, including Maya for modeling, ZBrush for sculpting details, Substance Painter for texturing, and Unreal Engine for lighting and atmosphere. Together, they allowed me to weave realism with mood, crafting a space that feels both grounded and dreamlike.

Though the road was difficult, the process taught me resilience, sharpened my skills, and deepened my passion for storytelling through environments. Standing at the end of this journey, I am proud of what “Ruin” has become—a reflection of growth, perseverance, and imagination.
